For the painter Stephan Hohenthanner, art was a fundamental constant in his life from an early age. He began drawing as a child, spent days refining his technique and became an accomplished painter early on. In his youth, he became intensively involved with street art and eventually decided to study art at the HAW in Hamburg under Prof. Christian Hahn.
For Stephan Hohenthanner, art is both research and a constant endeavor to broaden his horizons - both technically and personally. He shines with a clear and dissecting eye, which he uses to create his precise and personal constructions of reality.
His work was awarded the 12th Elysée Prize for Realistic Painting in 2022. Stephan Hohenthanner lives and works in Hamburg.
